ARTS 244 - Digital Media: Adobe Photoshop 3 hours The study and application of approaches and techniques in digital imaging. Students will learn fundamentals of digital camera operation and a variety of creative techniques through a number of hands-on assignments, demonstrations and critiques. Composition, exposure control (shutter speeds/aperture), focus and lighting techniques will be practiced as well as exploring thematic ideas and concepts. Adobe Photoshop will be used to edit, adjust, and manipulate images. A digital portfolio will be created throughout the semester that explores the technical and aesthetic potential of digital photography in both design and fine art. Students will also create a number of large formal prints as well as a designed and printed book. $40 lab fee.
