NURS 312 - Principles and Applications of Human Nutrition 3 hours This course emphasizes the basic principles of human nutrition related to nutrients and food sources and how they are utilized in the human body for growth and health throughout the lifespan. This course includes the study of assessment data, nutritional support, food and drug interactions, herbal remedies, weight management and nutritional interventions for various disease processes. This course also assesses contemporary nutrition issues. Prerequisite: RN Licensure and admission to the RN to BSN program; or admission to the BSN program, CHEM 109 or CHEM 110 and CHEM 112 , BIOL 110 and BIOL 110L , and MATH 150 .
