EDUC 360 - Teaching Mathematics in Middle and Secondary Schools 3 hours This course is designed to not only encourage preservice teachers to explore aspects of teaching mathematics, but also to enhance preservice teachers’ content knowledge of “school” mathematics. Considerable emphasis is placed on exploring multiple ways to make mathematics comprehensible to all of their future students. In addition, issues pertaining to lesson planning and implementation, assessment, integration of appropriate models, mathematics connections, and the use of technology are explored. Prerequisites: EDUC 300 or EDUC 505 (see graduate catalog for course description); and admission to the Teacher Certification Program . Includes field experience of 15 hours. $40 lab fee.
