The Associates of General Studies introduces students to the creative and critical thinking skills to meet their professional and person goals. In addition to the core components of the General Education Program, students completing an Associates of General Studies work with their academic advisor to choose additional coursework to develop an individualized degree focused on their interests as well as preparing them to:
- Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral forms.
- Explain situations that involve their roles as responsible citizens, environmental stewards, and ethical people.
- Identify diverse aspects of the human experience especially as presented in creative works.
- Apply scientific principles and mathematical models to answer questions.

General Education Requirements (27-29 sem. hrs)

General Education Core (18-20 sem. hrs.)
Select one course from six of the nine General Education Goals. For the Reasoning in the Natural Sciences, you can either complete BIOL/CHEM/ENVS 105 or a lecture-laboratory combination from the course list. A list of the general education core courses can be found here .
Electives (31-33 sem. hrs)
In consultation with your academic adviser, select additional semester hours of courses. These courses should be selected from across academic subjects.
