The History minor provides students with a solid grounding in U.S. and World history, while allowing them to pursue particular interests through 6 hours of U.S. and Global Emphasis courses. Research skills, allowing them to seek out additional evidence from a variety of perspectives against a background of societal information;
Empathy skills, allowing them to better understand other peoples’ reasoning, values, and situations in this rapidly globalizing world.
In addition, history courses typically improve proficiency in reading, writing and critical thinking as well as note-taking and library-research skills, and information- and digital-literacy.
