The Associate in Science with an emphasis in health science degree is specifically designed to prepare students for clinically focused programs and employment in healthcare. The health science curriculum integrates core courses in the biological sciences, humanities, and social sciences while exploring various healthcare-related careers. The health science major provides a strong foundation for students who want to pursue further education or employment in the field of health or human services.

- Describe fundamental biological and chemical principles as they relate to health and disease.
- Apply appropriate medical and anatomical terms in discussing health and disease states.
- Distinguish between major types of infectious disease organisms.
- Formulate disease transmission risk-analyses.
- Summarize the role of the scientific method in clinical healthcare.

Choose a total of 9 hours from core courses in at least two goals below: Major Area Requirements (19 sem. hrs.)
All required courses in the major must be completed with a C or higher grade. They cannot be taken Pass/Fail. Major Area Electives (12 sem. hrs.)
In addition to the required courses listed above, complete 12 hours of courses from BIOL, above 110, PSYC, NURS, HEAL, or HUMS. Total Semester Hours: 63 hours
