MSCJ 579 - Law Enforcement and the Community 3 hours This course examines the nature of law enforcement organizations as components of the political and social networks that comprise communities. Topics such as the intersection of law enforcement, mental health, juvenile justice and educational systems are examined. The public impact of law enforcement operations and the role of the media and special interest groups are examined in detail. Prerequisite: graduate standing.
