NURS 230 - Pathophysiology Foundations 3 hours


This pathophysiology course introduces human pathophysiologic disruptions of normal human body function. The course is designed to promote the understanding and application of disease processes. General concepts of disease include etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical significance. Pathophysiological concepts include foundational concepts of cellular injury, genetics, acid-base, electrolytes, and fluid balance and functional alterations of the immune, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, renal, nervous, gastrointestinal, immune, hematological, neurological, reproduction, and endocrine systems.  A grade of C or higher is required in this course prior to admission into the ASN program. For the traditional BSN program, the NURS 230 or NURS 311  can be taken. A grade of C or higher is required for the BSN program.  

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 110 .
